About the Winery
A pioneer in organic winemaking, Fiammetta Inga, founded Podere Marella in 1974 and was also one of the first adopters of the agriturismo (farmhouse retreat) in Italy. Podere Marella is located in the midst of vineyards, olive trees and mature oak woodland on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, in the Lake Trasimeno area, one of the most beautiful and culturally rich regions in the world.
The estate produces high quality Umbria IGT and Trasimeno DOC red, white and rosé wine with indigenous grape varieties such as sangiovese, gamay del trasimeno, canaiolo, grechetto and vermentino .
